The chaos in Owle EP is pervasive and unrelenting; it is not an absolute, but a continuum – its fragments playing over and over, until it forms and pierces once more. It is not a formless void, which existence is meaningless. It coaxes movement, free and unstoppable. It is a force that heightens, at many times assaults, all senses: every color is starkly vivid, every thought is lucid, and every rare moment of silence is pounding. It denies you the inertia of space and thought. It is an oscillating noise, that which halts at the middle (‘Departures’), momentarily to be encaved in echoes, static, and pulsating frequencies. It is feral and unapologetic; it is jarring and defiant. It knows that silence can be complicit; more is more. In a dog-eat-dog world, it has no space for fear. For its absence, one can be free.

Buwan-Buwan is a traditional Filipino game that enacts the lunar eclipse. Players draw a circle on the ground representing the moon, and must stay inside this circle. Meanwhile, one player acts as the Bakunawa, the mythical giant sea serpent who would eat the moon: he may not enter the circle, but must touch another player who is inside it in order to switch places.
